Jack Del Rio is the second head coach in the history of the Jaguars. Known more for defense and for being a player’s coach, Del Rio was hired because his style differed from that of Coughlin. In his first six seasons, he has guided the Jaguars to the playoffs twice and has had only one losing season.
Prior to coaching the Jaguars, Del Rio was the defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers leading one of the top units in the NFL. Also, he had an 11-year career as a player on five different teams.
