Jacksonville Jaguars Head Coach Tom Coughlin
Tom Coughlin
Tom Coughlin, known as a disciplinarian with an offensive mind, was the first coach in the history of the Jaguars. In his 8 seasons as head coach, he led the Jags to the playoffs 4 times while winning the division twice. In only the team's 2nd season, Coughlin led the Jaguars to the AFC title game. Along the way, the Jags gave the Bills their first home playoff loss at Rich Stadium and beat the heavily favored Broncos at Mile High in one of the biggest upsets in playoff history. Coughlin took the Jags to one more AFC title game in 1999 falling to rival Tennessee. After mismanaging the salary cap and three unsuccessful seasons in a row, Coughlin was eventually let go in 2002. However, he will best be known for leading the Jaguars to one of the best starts for an expansion team in NFL history.

Before he came to Jacksonville, he was the head coach at Boston College where he led the Golden Eagles to a 21-13-1 record. In his final season at BC, he upset #1 ranked Notre Dame and won the CarQuest Bowl.

Since leaving Jacksonville, Coughlin has gone on to win a Super Bowl as the head coach of the NY Giants.
